Pruning back your hedges and trees

It won’t be long before spring is upon us and now is a good time to catch up on any pruning and tidying up of your hedges and trees so you can enjoy them blook at their healthiest in the spring and summer. There are a number of things that you need to consider and prepare in order to make the most of your pruning.

Planning – make sure that you are aware of when the flowering seasons are for each of your trees and shrubs and that you have checked the best time of year to cut them back. There are certain trees that need to be cut back after they have flowered. You also need to make sure that you cut them back in the right way.

Rubbish – pruning creates lots of rubbish and having a trailer and some spare Trailer Parts like the ones from https://autoandtrailer.com/shop/trailer-parts is a good idea. This way you can fill the trailer with all of the offcuts from your trees and hedges, ready to take them to your local recycling centre.

Nutrients – after you have pruned back your tree or hedges it is a good idea to add some extra nutrients to the soil. This could be in the form of adding mulch to the soil or by adding some plant feed to the water.
