Six tips that will help to improve the composition of your photos landscape

Landscape photography is very grateful. Just a relatively small team and, yes, a good dose of creativity and passion, to get really great results. In fact, unlike what happens in other types of photography, we can take snapshots with a very decent quality without having a broad baggage.

As explained in other posts, a careful composition can make the difference between a correctly exposed photograph, but the pile, and exceptional instant. This quality is important in any kind of photography, but when we want to capture the beauty of a landscape the weight of the composition reaches a special dimension. This is what has encouraged us to prepare this post. We hope that the tips that we propose will help you enjoy more landscape photography, and, of course, also get better results.

Photography 1. Commitment balance

Do not leave to chance any of the compositional elements of your pictures. All of them imported. Moreover, it is best to work together and complement, increased image harmony and balancing the composition. If one of them, for whatever reason (its color, size, shape, etc.) is imposed on others, our photograph will be unbalanced and probably produce a feeling of uneasiness in the viewer. Avoid this happens, unless you deliberately seek this reaction for creative reasons.

2. Take care of the semantics of your photos

The picture uses its own visual language with great force. A lot of photographers want us to know, and master it, because we can use it to convey a lot of information with our snapshots. The range of compositional elements that we can use to generate in the viewer a particular reaction is large, but above all, it is worth to know the semantics of point, line, color, texture, contour, direction, scale, movement and dimension. Its meaning is beyond the scope of this post, but have widely developed in this other article published a few months ago.

3. This is the only rule: no rules

I have argued in several posts to date, and will continue to do so until satiety: photography is a form of expression, and as such should not be confined by rules. But to transgress them properly you need to know. In fact, this is just my opinion, I prefer to refer to them as principles rather than rules. In any case you can resultants helpful FEEL comfortable with principles such as concisely, similarity, symmetry, proximity, experience and continuity, among others.Photography

4. The beautiful, if simple … twice beautiful

Some photographers, especially at the beginning of his career, believe that the complexity is inextricably linked to the quality and creativity. But it need not be so. In fact, often the opposite happens. Do not be afraid to develop a simple composition in which a single element monopolize the attention of the viewer. A seemingly simple image can have more than a picture more complex dramatic charge, and probably confused.

5. Look for an item of interest

It is not possible to balance the composition of your landscape photographs introducing a compositional element that attracts the viewer’s attention. This is precisely the function exercised by the mill that you see in the picture that I leave below these lines. Without him this instant would lose much of its beauty and harmony.

6. Play with negative space

No attribute to your landscape photographs of details and information. A uniform space in which predominate, for example, elements of the same shape and color very similar, can dramatically increase the power and dramatic force of a photograph. Negative space must not necessarily be either solid black or white. A fairly accurate, and easily, to define it is to describe it as the space between the different elements of a composition.Photography

Experience unceremoniously

We have reached the end of the post, so I can only propose one last idea, experimented and play with these tips. The best way to progress in photography is simply to implement what we learn, but exercising our creative and not allowing freedom we ate something. Precisely one of the most obvious advantages of digital photography is the ability to put our hands on the method of trial and error without restrictions. Just do not shoot like crazy. By planning the composition of your photos before you press the shutter button on your camera and select the time of day that offers the right light. Good results will come alone.
